DVB FoundationThe goal of the DVB Foundation is to support the equestrian sport for handicapped. Funding, sponsors and donations allow the Foundation to support handicapped equestrian enthousiasts. They benefit greatly from the equestrian sport; it not only increases their physical and mental health but also boosts their self-confidence. While on the back of a horse, they are free from their wheelchair and crutches for a few moments. The horse doesn’t judge and has strong healthy legs for everyone, this leads to beautiful shared experiences between horse and rider. The DVB Foundation takes pride in making this possible.
Founders of the DVB Foundations are the internationally known Olympic riders and trainers Coby and Marlies van Baalen. The foundation, found in 2002, was firsts known as the ‘Stichting Vrienden Dressuurstal Van Baalen’ and focused on providing support and counsel from DVB located in Brakel, both for riders wit and without a handicap.
Since 2007, the DVB Foundation is aimed solely at providing support for riders with a handicap.
Both the board and all the volunteers do their work with passion and completely voluntarily.
